Meet the Presenters

 

Valerija Zienty

Valerie Zienty has a BS in Electrical Engineering and master's in teaching mathematics. She has been leading the pre-engineering program at Worcester Tech since 2011. She is a founder of "Fly Like a Girl" academy for Worcester County Public Schools which teaches girls how to code and operate drones.

 
 

Silviya Gallo

Mrs. Gallo teaches a long list of subjects at Worcester Tech, including math (geometry and pre-calculus), pre-engineering (aerospace engineering and civil engineering and architecture) and GIS program. A few years ago she started the Worcester Tech Laser Shop which provides custom laser orders to the community to fund school projects. She’s been able to use laser technology in the classroom to bring to life concepts students are learning thanks to the great community support of the Laser Shop.

Kyle Wheatley

Kyle Wheatley has been teaching science in Worcester County for the past 6 years  and has been using 3D printers in his classroom for the last 5. He currently teaches Chemistry and Physics at Snow Hill High School. 

Caleb Wilson

Caleb Wilson is a former middle school science teacher with 9 years of experience in education. He received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Master of Education both from Salisbury University. Currently, Caleb is a District Technology and Innovation Specialist with Worcester County Public Schools supporting technology integration that fosters creativity, collaboration, connectivity, and personalization of learning in WCPS schools. In addition to technology integration, Caleb is a 3D printing enthusiast, advocate for artificial intelligence in education, and a certified Apple Teacher and Apple Learning Academy Specialist.

 
 

Dr. Tom Hamill

Dr. Tom Hamill has taught and worked in Worcester County for 18 years as an English Teacher, Curriculum Resource Teacher, Assistant Principal, and Local Accountability Coordinator.  He earned his doctorate from Salisbury University in Literacy.  Throughout his career, his passion has been to find ways to incorporate technology into education in ways that not only motivate, but actually enhance student learning.

Beau Williams and Jennifer Beach

Beau Williams is the school library media specialist and gifted and talented teacher for Snow Hill Middle School. He enjoys following new technology trends and finding ways they can benefit his students learning in the media center. Mr. William’s brings a “what will we create today” mindset to his school’s makerspace and media classroom, believing that the best learning journey followed, is the one together.Jennifer Beach has been an educator for 19 years.  She spent her first 8 years as a classroom teacher where she taught first grade and fourth grade.  For last 11 years, she has served as a Media Specialist.  She is currently the Media Specialist at Pocomoke Middle School, where she has worked to transform both the Media Center and its programs. She is passionate about student creativity and innovation, as shown through her library Makerspace and Gifted and Talented program. Jennifer is an Apple Teacher and Apple Learning Coach.
